ANCIENT MEDICINE
in the past, the practices and theories that we used to cure disease were known as medicine.No one know for certain when it began, but it's probably as old as we were. It's like there had been illness ever since human society started about 2M years ago. In their search for food and shelter, early humans would have been injured, caught infections. But very soon, they started to develop ways to treat these problems.
MEDICINE AND MAGIC
The people that was live in the past didn't know what was the caused of the deseases. cause the sickness hadn't cause, they believed it was sent by the gods in the form of punishment, and they had done something wicked.These causes were supernatural or outside nature. They had a "shaman" who treated the deseases and was a combination of a priest and a doctor. He was believed to have a especial "contact" with the gods. This method would be used to drive "evil spirits" out of a sick persons body.
MAGICAL MEDICINE IN OUR DAYS
Now, there are shamans in several societies, including in parts of Africa and Asia. they communicate with the spirit world and perform rituals to cure sickness.
